The launch of Tropical Shipping's new bonded warehouse was held on June 22, 2007, at their Trincity Business Park, Golden Grove, Piarco location. Although the opening was scheduled to start at 5:30pm, many of the invited guests arrived late due to the Friday evening traffic. Decked in their black polo t-shirts, staff members welcomed the arriving guests at the entrance and encouraged each person to sign-up for a chance to win a hamper or the grand door prize of a flat screen television.
As those gathered mixed and mingled in the breezy open air environment, they were also treated to the sweet sounds of pulsating Tassa drumming courtesy of the Outlaws Tassa Group from Piarco. While a variety of beverages and hors d'oeuvres were being served throughout the evening, the DJ added more flavor to the mix by setting the mood for the occasion with some of the best 'back-in-times' music.
Further enhancing the mood was the intoxicating ambience and view of the beautiful, though brief, sunset. This signaled the start of the company's launch.

Guests from companies such as Bermudez, Nestle, Spancrete and A.S. Bryden were present at the launch. The Tropical staff and guests wore small name tabs on their shirts to facilitate the "getting to know each other" process. The music and the well-stocked bars added to the Friday after-work flavour that many Trinidadians like so much.
According to a release by the company, Tropical Shipping has been shipping cargo to the Caribbean for more than 40 years. They ship a range of cargo from small packages, to millions of tons of building materials and groceries. Their newly launched bonded warehouse will accommodate a range of various cargo goods.
During the event, a representative from Tropical Shipping invited guests to take a tour of the warehouse to see how easy it is for clients to access their goods.

Close to the end of the function, guests were invited to gather under a tent for the drawing of prizes. After a representative of the company offered a brief welcome thanking everyone for coming, the names were pulled and a brief presentation of the hampers and the grand door-prize were distributed to the winners. The lucky winner of the grand door-prize was Denzil Ali who seemed shocked, yet thrilled to be the recipient of the prize.
As tokens of appreciation and also in keeping with the grandeur of the occasion, the guests were presented with beautifully wrapped glasses before their departure.
