The Port of Spain City Corporation presented their first ever fashion show titled Fashion Fandango on Sunday 22nd July, 2007, in the Ballroom of the Cascadia Hotel in St. Anns. The show featured councilors, aldermen, management and staff as well as seasoned models from Mannequins Caribbean showcasing a beautiful selection of men's and women's fashion by a wide range of designers, who according to Artistic Director Richard Young, were particularly selected to reflect a sense of the indigenous and the innovative, but above all heralding Caribbean style.

Many fashion enthusiasts arrived in formal and semi-formal attire displaying their own elegance and style. On arrival, the guests were immediately ushered to their seats inside of the splendidly decorated ballroom. Large crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceiling adding opulence and unsurpassable ambience to the room. The large burnt orange textured flooring catwalk was elegantly decorated with a beautiful backdrop which complimented the wide array of colours worn by the models. Seats were stylishly set around the catwalk which allowed members of the audience to comfortably enjoy the show.

His Worship, the Mayor of Port of Spain, Mr. Murchison Brown and his wife and other non-participating members of the Port of Spain Corporation were also present in support of their first ever fashion show.

With music to compliment the theme of the show, the models, some with less experience than others all gracefully made their entrance to an appreciative audience. Members of the Port of Spain Corporation enthusiastically cheered their fellow colleagues who confidently strutted on the runway to showcase a wide selection of designer wear. The models did an exceptional job with respect to professionalism in this new area for which most were unaccustomed.

The evening featured both prominent and upcoming designers showing off their styles. These design labels included The Cloth, Lon's Fashion, Cia's Fashion, New Attitude, Stacy Smith Designs, DLR Designs, Contours, Lisa Laurie Clothing, DAV Originals, Voluptuously Vogue, Smithstone Designs and Simply Garnett's.

The night however was not all about fashion. The audience was treated to reggae and R&B influenced style music performed by the group 2Intrigue. The young, all male dance group Stable, also graced the stage impressing patrons with their dance moves.

The evening was brought to a successful conclusion when the models made their final appearance on the catwalk. The audience cheered continuously as the models each made their way backstage.
