The National Women's League held its third annual talent competition at the Balisier House in Port of Spain on Sunday 22nd July, 2007. The Honourable Eulalie James, First Lady Vice Chairperson of the National Women's League delivered the welcome address and remarked that she felt proud to know that the Women's League has in mind to search for talent in Trinidad and Tobago. She expressed that it was important to keep culture alive and urged the audience to give children full support.

Young presenters, Sunshine De Silva and Mark Pierre, last year's first and second place winners respectively were the presenters for the afternoon and they thrilled the audience with their witty and expert presenting.

Shaquille Mitchell of the Picton Road Folk Performers kicked off the competition with a limbo dance, dancing and limboing under consecutively lower levels of the fire-bar, finishing in a split to rapturous applause from the audience.

Jelani Reid took to the stage next and presented his well-crafted poem extolling the virtues of honesty and integrity. Reena Rajkumar performed a Calypso encouraging young people to take their education seriously. Danielle Huggins performed a gospel titled "My Fragile Heart" and Chiffon Baird did justice to Ella Andell's Rhythm of a People" with her well-executed dance item.

One of the favourite talent items came from the precocious Kershelle Cummings who drew laughter and applause from the audience with a very funny monologue "Topsy Turvy World" which explored a world where children told parents what to do, what clothes to wear and what food to eat.

Some interesting renditions were by Nicholan Hyacinth who explored the negatives and positives of Port of Spain by performing a Calypso about her first trip to the capital city, Akeisha Mason who danced to the song "My Redeemer Lives", Karise-Marie Rawlins who sang a Calypso song about Emancipation and Shivonne Jones who creatively communicated via sign-language a gospel song. Also competing was little Anishka Hovell, accompanied by drummers, who demonstrated her dancing skills to the rhythms of the drums.

Also guest-performing were the presenters Sunshine De Silva and Mark Pierre, both of whom did a great job in reminding the audience why they placed so highly in last year's competition.

When the much-anticipated results were announced, Reena Rajkumar of La Brea won third place for her Calypso about education; Karise-Marie Rawlins won second place for her Calypso about Emacipation and Kershelle Cummings placed first for her witty monologue "Topsy Turvy World".
