The management of New City Mall in association with the New City Mall Tenants Association presented gifts to several deserving schools in a brief ceremony on Monday, 19th November 2007, at the New City Mall compound on Independence Square, Port of Spain. Originally known as Tent City Mall, the mall was ravaged by fire on April 22, 1997, and rebuilt with the name New City Mall.

After the presentations, Triniview.com made a tour around the mall, talking to mall entrepreneurs while also taking pictures of them and their booths. The spacious two storey mall features a wide variety of stores that offer quality products and services to prospective customers. There were clothes and shoe stores offering fashionable styles; food booths offering varied menus of light snacks as well as full course breakfasts and lunches; hair and nail saloons; a booth offering phones, electronics, internet and game services; jewelry stores, shoe repair stores and even a tattoo parlour. The mall was a buzz with activity as people patronized these various establishments.
