On Saturday, 07 April 2007, the Picton Folk Performing Company held their 3rd Annual Dinner and Awards ceremony at their base on Picton Road, Laventille. Smartly dressed members and supporters of the Picton Folk Performing Company came out in their numbers for this function. After the National Anthem and opening prayer, Claudia John introduced the executives of the Picton Folk Performing Company, two of whom - President of Picton Folk Performing Company Carlene Hendrikson and teacher extraordinaire Carlos Griffith - were the hosts for the evening.

MP for Laventille West, Eulalie James, was in the audience and she soon addressed the gathering, reminiscing on the beginning of the Picton Folk Performing Company and the amazement with which she would watch them perform. She advised them to keep going up and up, and said that dancing is a constructive discipline that keeps one out of mischief. She further shared with the audience that the young ones are being depended upon to make Laventille a better and brighter place, and told them to show them what Laventille has to offer.

In one very emotional moment, mother and strong supporter, Michelle Corridon, was serenaded by the all-male Picton Quartet, who sang a moving song in tribute to her hard work, strength and dedication as a mother and supporter of the Picton Folk Performing Company. Michelle's son Peter, a member of the Picton Folk Performing Company who passed away, was remembered for his kindness and dedication to the organization. In his last words to some of the members before he passed away he had asked them to win the Best Village Drumology, which they did, and this trophy was presented to his mother Michelle, on his behalf. Carlos Griffith said that as the months and years go by, Peter will not be forgotten but will always have a place in their hearts.

Various members and supporters of the Picton Folk Performing Company collected prizes for their various contributions to the organizations. Some of these areas included dancing, drumming, acting and outstanding service to the organisation.
