I spend numerous evenings on that fort. it was the joy of picton. Now it's a dangerous place to hang out. I hope Trinidad will recognize the value of the fort and think about re-construction and security

Maybe if others stopped listening to what they 'hear' and see for themselves to judge, the image of Straker village can be redeemed.

I grew up in Laventille and even though I live abroad now being from 'behind de bridge' carries a stigma. These photos and the accompanying story give me such a sense of pride. Maybe others can see why I proclaim that I am a proud Laventillian.
