July 16th 2005: Here local government representative Joel Martinez (in yellow) stays at a distance and takes pictures. He failed to offer assistance throughout this entire ordeal. He ran in March 2005 when we were attempting to tell him this would happen.

Speaking with the owner of the parcel of land we are on Andrew Johnston (sitting). The government was supposed to acquire this land and widen the river. He says they started the process in 1994 but never completed it.

July 16th 2005: Speaking with the Minister of Works Colm Imbert (or facilitating his public relations). He said he would fast track the acquisition of the land and build better drainage. We do not trust politicians.

Here a truck is dumping silt in an attempt to rebuild the embankment that was first thinned by the inconsiderate neighbour and then washed away in the rains. We told the minister if a heavy rain comes, that dirt will be washed away again.
