Mansions of Rastafari hosts Dr. Julius Garvey

On Thursday 30th July, 2015, the All Mansions of Rastafari organization in association with the Emancipation Support Committee (ESC) hosted Dr. Julius Garvey, son of renowned Pan Africanist Marcus Garvey, in a special education event at the Twelve Tribes of Israel Headquarters in Sea Trace, Diego Martin. Dr. Julius Garvey was obviously moved by the enthusiastic welcome he received and gave a wide-ranging address to the audience that highlighted the relevance of the legacy left by Marcus Garvey. Dr. Garvey, who arrived in Trinidad to join in the commemoration of Emancipation Day, lauded the Rastafarians for their monumental role in keeping his father’s memory alive. Among those present for this event were Nyabinghi elder and secretary of the All Mansions of Rastafari Bongo Grease, Akilah Jaramogi of the Merikins and Fondes Amandes Community Reforestation Project (FACRP), Priest Kitchi of the Belmont Bobo Shanti, Bobo Shanti elder Priest Immersley, cultural activist Junior Bisnath and ESC representative Shabaka Kambon.
