So true and the rosary recited after lunch. The house meeting once per month and students called out before the entire school for good or bad conduct, attendance, punctuality or studies. Then the best of the house for the month and the captain will receive a trophy for the month for the house

The almond tree is still there. On the south side the Seerattans lived. Every one has forgotten at lunch time Crispy used to sell channa, Miss Rosie selling her sugar cake, toolum and there was another lady who used to sell pommecythere in salt water and pepper in a bottle, and curry mango

Where the Niles and George family got their education. Remember Miss Rollocks, Miss Herrera the infants teacher, Mother Maria, Mrs. Alleyne. The year that I went to school was the year the foundation stone was laid by Count Finbar Ryan the Archbishop of Trinidad

Good to know the band stand is still there. The days when the Police band will come and play music and the park will be filled with adults and children who went just to hear the band play classical to calypso

The trees where you would sit and relax after walking up Abercombry St. from the Eastern Main Road. George Earl was a City Councillor good to know the park now has a name and as it was called the PArk

On Market Street just south of the Government School was the Resurgam Hall which was owned by a man called Gaspard. On Carnival Sunday night you could see the folks going to dance there to the sounds of Coloi and his brass band. During the day time there was a high school in the hall

How many remember the old school with the red bricks. To mention a few teachers Mr. Dow, Thomas, Mohammed. Good teacher but very strict

Just remember under James Soo Yam supermarket around the corner there was Ajim who used to sell press with guava syrup and milk. If you don't know what press is it is what they now called snow cone but it was bigger and the ice was shaved when you order the press
