Bollywood Dance Company presents ‘Rhythm Divine’
On Saturday 12th December, 2009, the Bollywood Dance Company presented their grand fundraising concert entitled “Rhythm Divine”. This event was held at the Rex Car Ltd. Compound in Mulchan Trace, Penal. It was an evening of Indian dance and entertainment which included a magic performance and a skit about the life styles of the rich and the poor.
National Academy for the Performing Arts
Basked in controversy, the National Academy for the Performing Arts (Northern Campus) was formally opened on November 09, 2009, to mixed reviews. While some likened the structure to the Sydney Opera House in Australia and criticized the government for several issues including the massive cost of the building, others praised the work of the Chinese laborers employed by UDeCOTT. Christmas with the Marionettes Chorale took place on December 03, 2009, at Queen’s Hall, P.O.S. The choir, headed by Gretta Taylor featured several Christmas favorites sang in operatic fashion. Featured were some of the Chorales star singers and musicians who all delighted the audience with their talents.

Crowning of Miss La Reine Rive
The Crowning of Miss La Reine Rive, part of the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition, took place on November 20, 2009, at Queen’s Hall, P.O.S. Apart from the cultural extravaganza which featured choirs and dance groups from across the country, were the final two segments of the competition: Parade of Queens in Evening Gown and Queens’ Self Expression.
Meiling 2010 Fashion Presentation
Meiling’s 2010 Fashion Presentation occurred on November 17, 2009 at the Hilton Trinidad Ballroom. The theme, “The Secret Life of Plants”, was inspired by the delicate nature of plants in their different stages in nature and this idea was employed in the creation of all pieces on display.
