Basked in controversy, the National Academy for the Performing Arts (Northern Campus) was formally opened on November 09, 2009, to mixed reviews. While some likened the structure to the Sydney Opera House in Australia and criticized the government for several issues including the massive cost of the building, others praised the work of the Chinese laborers employed by UDeCOTT.
