Earl Crosby’s Send-off

Prominent businessman and cultural activist, Earl Crosby, passed away at the age of sixty-five on Wednesday 3rd August, 2016, after succumbing to pancreatic cancer. Crosby was warded at the Vitas House Hospice, St. James at the time of his passing.

On Monday 01st February, 2016, the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation (TUCO), in collaboration with First Citizens, hosted the National Junior Calypso Monarch Final at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain. Ladies Night Out 2016

On Saturday 23rd January, 2016, Randy Glasgow Productions (RGP) hosted their 13th annual Ladies Night Out Mega Concert at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo. For this year’s concert, RGP featured two specially invited guest performers, namely Jamaican reggae artiste Jah Cure and Cuban-American balladist Jon Secada.

Kaiso Karavan Calypso Tent Judging Night 2016

On Friday 22nd January, 2016, TUCO’s east zone calypso tent, Kaiso Karavan, was visited by the National Calypso Monarch judging panel for the preliminary round of judging. A cast of twenty-two calypsonians vied for a place in the semi-final round of the competition. This event took place at the tent’s seasonal home base in the Eric Williams Auditorium, La Joya Complex, Eastern Main Road, St. Joseph.

Divas Calypso Cabaret International Judging Night 2016

On Thursday 21st January, 2016, the all-female calypso tent, Divas Calypso Cabaret International was visited by the National Calypso Monarch judging panel for the preliminary round of judging. A cast of fifteen calypsonians vied for a place in the semi-final round of the competition. This event took place at De Nu-Pub (Mas Camp Pub), Ariapita Avenue and French Street, Woodbrook.

Icons Calypso Tent Judging Night 2016

On Wednesday 20th January, 2016, the Icons Calypso Tent was visited by the National Calypso Monarch judging panel for the preliminary round of judging. A cast of twenty-six calypsonians vied for a place in the semi-final round of the competition. This event took place at the tent’s seasonal home base, the Ambassador Hotel, Long Circular Road, St. James.

Generation Next Calypso Tent Judges Night 2016

On Tuesday 19th January, 2016, the Generation Next Calypso Tent was visited by the National Calypso Monarch judging panel for the preliminary round of judging. A cast of about twelve participants vied for a place in the semi-final round of the competition. This event took place at the tent’s seasonal home base, National Union of Government and Federated Workers’ (NUGFW) building, Union Hall on Henry, Port of Spain.

On Monday 18th January, 2016, TUCO’s central executive calypso tent, Kaiso House, was visited by the National Calypso Monarch judging panel for the preliminary round of judging. A cast of twenty-three calypsonians vied for a place in the semi-final round of the competition. This event took place at the tent’s seasonal home base, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain.
